Your Guide for Deciding Where to Stay in Southern Utah

Whenever people visit the Southwest, they want to know where to stay when visiting Utah national parks. Because this is one of the biggest draws to the area, there are plenty of available vacation rentals within driving distance from the federal and state parks. Explore these four regions and learn about the exciting activities offered near each!

Brian Head

Brian Head is best known for its ski resort, so if you’re looking to hit the trails in the winter, this is the place for you. Experience the slopes in a whole new way and try night skiing on Brian Head! On a summertime trip, you can explore the endless number of hiking and biking trails.

Brian Head is central to three national parks—Bryce Canyon, Zion, and Cedar Breaks National Park. Trek through the Bryce Canyon National Park in the evening to get a stunning view from the Bryce Canyon Sunset Point. Because of its proximity to these parks, Brian Head is one of the most unique places to stay in Utah.

Parowan

Parowan is a small town just outside of Dixie National Forest. Staying here is a great way to remain close to many different attractions, such as Paragon Adventures or Zion National Park. If you book a stay in Parowan, we recommend renting a car so that you have access to all the activities in the area.

Panguitch

When deciding where to stay in Southern Utah, consider a cabin rental in Panguitch. If you’re seeking a little solace from city life, this is the perfect place to kick back, relax, and fish the day away. Offering a more secluded getaway, Panguitch is a charming area with a Wild West vibe.

Explore the museums and admire the architecture, or head to one of the many parks nearby. If you’re looking to go skiing but don’t want to stay right in Brian Head, Panguitch is just under an hour away from the slopes. Drive 25 minutes into the Dixie National Forest to take advantage of the Panguitch Lake. Spend the day swimming and suntanning in the summer or try your hand at Panguitch Lake ice fishing in the winter!

Duck Creek Village

Duck Creek Village is one of the best places to stay in Southern Utah for outdoor enthusiasts. Surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery, this quaint town is within proximity of three national parks, five national monuments, two state parks, and two national forests.

Needless to say, there are plenty of hiking trails as well as opportunities to ride ATVs and bikes through the mountainous terrain. Traverse the forest on horseback or discover ancient Native American ruins at the Anasazi State Park Museum.
