The Best Trip From Salt Lake City to Brian Head
Explore Salt Lake City
There are tons of attractions to see and things to do around the Beehive State’s capital city before embarking on your Salt Lake City to Brian Head road trip. Most visitors fly into either Las Vegas or Salt Lake when visiting Southern Utah because of the lack of major airports in the area. The Wasatch Mountain foothills are home to countless hiking opportunities like Millcreek Canyon, Mount Olympus, and Neffs Canyon. If you don’t feel like venturing into the mountain wilderness just yet, you can stay closer to town and tour the beautiful grounds of Red Butte Garden near the University of Utah’s campus or take in sweeping views of the city from Ensign Peak.
Salt Lake City is also well-known for its rich Mormon heritage. Several monuments around town like Temple Square, Salt Lake Temple, and Salt Lake Tabernacle are sights to behold. The Temple’s 222-foot steeple is simply stunning. While visitors who are not members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints may not enter these sacred buildings, they are a must-see from the outside during the first leg of your Salt Lake City to Brian Head road trip.
You’ll also find an extensive list of museums around the downtown area that has a surprising mix of green spaces spread throughout. Now, it’s time to hop in your car and take the trek south to Brian Head.
