The origin of Brian Head’s name is a mystery
Brian Head’s history is well-known – for the most part. The town was originally known as Monument Peak and was a point of reference for early expeditions. At some point, the name was changed to Brian Head, which stuck. Some stories say it was named by the citizens of Parowan in honor of William Jennings Bryan, while others insist that the town was named by the famous explorer John Wesley Powell.
